Why does UnimeType need Full Access?

Full Access lets the keyboard read settings saved by the containing app and contact the compatible AI endpoint configured by the user.

When the user taps Convert, Polish or Explain, the request goes to the compatible endpoint configured in the UnimeType app.

Can I use UnimeType without an API key?

Yes. The monthly and annual managed plans do not require API setup. The Free BYOK plan requires a compatible API key.

Why two switches?

“Keyboard” adds UnimeType to iOS. “Allow Full Access” enables shared settings and network requests. Convert cannot contact your model while Full Access is off.

What is UnimeType?

Is UnimeType a translation app?

No. It is a keyboard. Language conversion happens inside it, alongside rewrite, polish and explanation.

Why does the keyboard need Full Access?

Full Access lets the keyboard read the settings saved by the UnimeType app and send a request to the compatible AI endpoint you configured. Without it, those network-powered features cannot run.

Where is my text sent?

A request goes to the compatible endpoint you configured when you tap Convert, Polish or Explain. You can change or remove that endpoint and API key in the UnimeType app.

I do not have an API key. Can I still use UnimeType?

Yes. Choose the $9.99 monthly plan or the $99 annual plan to use the managed service without API setup. The Free plan requires your own compatible API key.
