Your keyboard. Your model.

Add your endpoint

Enter an OpenAI-compatible base URL, model name and API key in the UnimeType app.

Enable the keyboard

Open UnimeType’s system settings and turn on “Keyboard” so it appears under the globe key.

Allow Full Access

This lets the keyboard read its shared configuration and contact the endpoint you chose.

Why two switches?

“Keyboard” adds UnimeType to iOS. “Allow Full Access” enables shared settings and network requests. Convert cannot contact your model while Full Access is off.

Privacy, stated plainly

You choose where conversion runs.

EndpointRequests go to the compatible endpoint you configure, not to a hidden UnimeType account.
TimingA network request starts when you choose Convert, Polish or Explain.
ControlYou can change or remove the endpoint and API key from the containing app.
System limitsiOS replaces third-party keyboards in secure password fields.
Questions, answered

What is UnimeType?

What does UnimeType do?

UnimeType is an iPhone and iPad keyboard with three main features: it converts natural Latin input into other writing systems, rewrites and polishes messages, and explains text you want to understand.

Is UnimeType a translation app?

It works inside the keyboard, so you can convert, rewrite or explain text without copying it into a separate translation app.

Why does the keyboard need Full Access?

Full Access lets the keyboard read the settings saved by the UnimeType app and send a request to the compatible AI endpoint you configured. Without it, those network-powered features cannot run.

Where is my text sent?

A request goes to the compatible endpoint you configured when you tap Convert, Polish or Explain. You can change or remove that endpoint and API key in the UnimeType app.
